Booklet No. 4: History of the Naval Victualling Department and its association with Plymouth
This fascinating history by Len Stephens was first published in 1970 in the RN Supply & Transport Service Journal as a series of articles. The sixth booklet in the series, written by Ray Bush, is about the Plymouth and Stonehouse Leats. The Plymouth Leat is commonly known as Drake's Leat after Sir Francis Drake. This booklet goes some way to showing us the route that they both took through Plymouth. Included is several modern maps with the course of the Leats included.
